The Princess Bride – In the Park!

Following a sold-out show in May, Liberty City Radio Theatre  is bringing perennial favorite,  The Princess Bride, adapted in the style of an old-time radio show,  out in the open air to Jefferson Square Park located at 3rd & Washington Ave on June 7 at 6pm,

(raindate June 14). 

Celebrating a decade of serving up its unique brand of instant nostalgia to Philadelphia audiences, Liberty City recreates the golden era of the ‘theatre of the mind’  for modern audiences with sketch comedy, musical numbers, and on-stage sound effects, featuring a calvalcade of performers, including Neena Boyle, Danielle Defassio,  Josh Kirwin,  Billy McHattie, Caroline Oddo, Heather Plank, Nina Sharp & Joe Turner. 

Tickets are free, but donations to feed the actors are always welcome.

Saturday Park Cleanup Schedule 2026

Every second Saturday, we gather as a community to pick up, prune, and clean the park. The fun for the whole family starts at 9:00am and we end around Noon. Join us!

Park Succession Planning

You’re invited to join us at a community meeting hosted by Friends of Jefferson Square Park and Dickinson Square Park to learn more about Park Trees of Tomorrow and help shape the future of our park’s tree canopy.

Park Trees of Tomorrow is a pilot project led by Fairmount Park Conservancy, Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, and local Park Friends groups. Every park — and its tree canopy — is unique. This project gathers community input to better understand how neighbors use their park and how trees shape their park experience, in support of the Philly Tree Plan, a 10-year effort to grow and care for the city’s trees.

Fall 2025 Edition

Jefferson Square was chosen for a Tree Study led by Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and Fairmount Park Conservancy. This study will help us learn how neighbors use the park and why trees matter to them! This work will support the Philly Tree Plan, a 10-year plan to grow and care for the city’s trees.

This is a donation-based (pay-as-you-wish) program.
